In a recent chat on ‘The Himanshu Mehta Show’, popular television star Jasmin Bhasin shared a disturbing experience from her early days in the industry. Known for her appearance in ‘Bigg Boss 14’ and most recently ‘The Traitors’ hosted by Karan Johar, Jasmin is now using her platform to talk about real issues many newcomers face in showbiz.
The actress recalled an encounter that took place during an audition in Mumbai. She had just arrived in the city and, like many aspiring actors, was attending auditions and meetings. One such meeting was held in a hotel in Juhu.

But what Jasmin faced was anything but glamorous.

“There were many girls waiting in the hotel lobby,” she said. “It seemed like a normal audition set-up, with coordinators and all. But when I walked into the room, things didn’t feel right.”
Jasmin Bhasin described how the man conducting the audition was drinking alcohol in the room. This immediately made her uncomfortable.
“I got scared,” she admitted. “The coordinator left the room, and I was alone with this man who started telling me about a scene I had to perform.”
According to Jasmin, the man insisted she perform the scene right then and there, even though she asked for time to prepare and come back the next day. “He said no, do it now,” she recalled.
She went on to describe the situation getting worse. The man began instructing her to act out a scene in an inappropriate way. “He told me to stand up and do a scene where I had to stop my lover from leaving. But his directions made me feel very uncomfortable.”
What happened next shook her. “He locked the door and tried to cross a line,” she said, clearly still disturbed by the memory. “But I used my presence of mind and somehow managed to run away.”
That moment became a turning point for Jasmin. She made a promise to herself: ‘never again’ would she attend any meetings in hotel rooms. “That day I decided, no matter what, I will never go to such meetings again in life,” she stated.
Jasmin also spoke about the broader issue of the casting couch in the entertainment world. “Yes, it does exist,” she said honestly. “But the people who do such things in the name of casting are not real casting directors. They’re just taking advantage of people’s dreams.”
She emphasized how important it is for aspiring actors to be careful and informed. “I know everyone wants work, and that desperation sometimes puts us in dangerous situations. But real casting never happens like this. Genuine casting calls will never involve such behavior.”
